Reverse Capital Flows: Culture Reconstruction of Grassroots Football and Field Paradox in Professional Football in China

Starting from the success of the 2025 Jiangsu Province City Football League, this article explores the mechanism and implications of the reverse flow of cultural capital in contemporary Chinese society. Based on clarifying the historical context of the differentiation between the professional and grassroots paths in Chinese football, it analyzes the structural paradoxes of professional football trapped in the dual logic of market and administration: the alienation of money, the loss of cultural roots, the collapse of trust, and the external regulation of the field. By comparison, it also reveals the cultural value breakthrough of grassroots football relying on the resilience of social self-organization: identity reconstruction, collective practice, capital reorganization, and symbol revolution. Furthermore, this article systematically explains the driving mechanism of the reverse flow of cultural capital: to promote the downward shift of cultural production power to public participation with digital technology empowerment and social psychological needs as the dual engine; to promote the value reconfiguration from "priority of efficiency" to "priority of meaning" with the institutional balance of the state's presence and the absence of the market as the guarantee. This fact not only challenges the classic theoretical presuppositions of Bourdieu's single-directional penetration of cultural capital, but also reveals the new practical path of cultural democratization and local identity reconstruction in the digital era.
