Journal of Shanghai University of Sport, established in 1959, is one of the earliest professional and academic sports journals in China. Currently as a comprehensive monthly, the journal covers the columns including Special Subjects, Academic Discussions, Original Articles, Literature Reviews, Youth Forums, New Views, etc.
For over 60 years, the journal has been sticking to the top academic line and attained great achievements. It has been included in the CSSCI source journal every year, Key Chinese Sports Journal, A-level Key Journal of “Chinese Humanities and Social Science Journals”, and the source journal of China Social Science Excellence of China Renmin University. It has been awarded the title of “Top Scientific Journals” of Chinese universities and colleges by Ministry of Education 4 times in a row from 2006-2012, the only one in all professional sports journals of the country. It has achieved “The First Prize of State Scientific Periodicals of Chinese Universities and Colleges”, the title of “Top Scientific Journals” of Shanghai Universities and Colleges in 2014, and Support Plan Fund of Shanghai Top-level Universities and Colleges in 2015. In 2016 it was awarded the title of Excellent Scientific Journal of Universities and Colleges both in China and in Shanghai, in 2017 and 2019 “Excellent” in Editing and Proof-reading Quality in Shanghai successively. In 2018 it has attained the titles of The 3rd Shanghai Top Scientific Journals of Universities and Colleges, Excellent in State Sports Academic Journals”, “The Best of Shanghai Universities and Colleges Journals”. And in 2019 it was first awarded “Top Social Science Journal of Universities and Colleges in China”.
The newly published CSSCI (2019-2020) by Nanjing University, Chinese Key Journal List by Beijing University (2017), and Research Report of Chinese Academic Journals Evaluation by Wuhan University (2017-2018) have all witnessed the inclusion of Journal of Shanghai University of Sport, ranking top in the list of sports journals. In the meanwhile, the journal has been included in the famous international database like CAS of the USA and SIRC. According to The Annual Report of Chinese Academic Journals Impact Factors designed by China Research Center for Metrological Evaluation of Scientific Literature, the impact factors of the journal has been listed No.1 among all national sports university journals, being the first-class Chinese sports journal with its high-level academic quality.
