Current Situation and Development Strategy of Sports Venue Construction in China

Based on the data of the sixth National Sports Venue Census, the article summarized the major construction achievements of Chinese sports venues, including the significantly increased number and area, the gradually optimized distribution and types, the growing social investment, and the improved fitness function of sports venues.However, there are some problems meanwhile, including the insufficient indoor, outdoor and rural sports venues as well as the inadequate space and lack of investment channels in some key projects.The study thus put forward the strategies for the future development of sports venues in China:to increase the proportion of indoor sports venue construction, to enlarge the scale of rural sports venue construction, to promote the opening of football fields, to speed up the construction of winter sports venues, to build more national fitness sports venues, and to introduce private capital to build sports venues.
