Corporate Governance of Professional Football Clubs in China:An Example of Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club Co., Ltd.

  • Citing Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club Co., Ltd.as an example, this paper analyzed the corporate governance practice of professional football clubs in China based on the theory of corporate governance.It holds that such measures should be taken in corporate governance:to complete the corporate governance structure and the internal governance mechanism of the general shareholders' meeting, board of directors, supervisory board and senior management.At the same time, we should expand the external governance by improving the industry association governance and product market governance, as well as participating in capital market governance and market control management.It is proposed that the other professional clubs have to further develop the internal governance, seek the competitive market-driven external governance actively, emphasize the role of parent company, and exert the influence of corporate investors on the club governance.
