A Review of Sports and Adolescent Risky Behavior Intervention in Foreign Countries

This study conducted the studies on sports and youth risky behaviors in foreign countries by using literature review. The results shows that foreign scholars tend to use the theories of self-efficacy, social bond and positive youth development as the framework to explore the intervention effectiveness and mechanism on youth risky behaviors such as violence, unsafe sex behaviors, alcohol and drug abuse, smoking and internet addiction, etc. Hence we should pay more attention to the research of sports on adolescents' risky behaviors intervention as well as different types of adolescents' risky behaviors by using qualitative and quantitative research methods from interdisciplinary research perspectives.
