Influence of the "New Norm" on the Preparation of Beijing Winter Olympic Games

During the winter Olympic Games in pyeongchang, South Korea, the International Olympic Committee(IOC) issued the "Olympic Agenda 2020 Olympic Games:the New Norm" for sustainable development.The "New Norm" focuses on the Olympic bid, the Olympic heritage and the preparation to delivery, which has an important impact on the preparation of the Beijing winter Olympic Games.The reform characteristics of the New Norm are mainly reflected in the following aspects:reducing costs in all aspects; simplifying the complexity of the games; increasing the interaction between organizations; and introducing professional third party organizations.The strategy of preparation for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games are suggested as follows:to clarify the responsibilities of stakeholders and strengthen collaborative governance; to continue to push forward cost control and reduce Olympic expenses; to continue to implement the legacy plan of the winter Olympics and raise awareness of winter sports; and to promote the green development of the winter Olympics by reducing haze, protecting mountains, controlling water and saving energy.
