Emergence, Development and Enlightenment of National Chinese Normal College of Martial Arts and Physical Education

The emergence and development of National Chinese Normal College of Martial Arts and Physical Education can be regarded as an embodiment of practicing "culture self-consciousness" owing to the cultural conflict between China and the West at the specific time.Influenced by political, educational, cultural, and other factors at that time, the college introduced western naturalistic sports while worshiping local martial arts and some parts of military training.It gained parallel development of fostering teachers and linking up Chinese and western sports, with the complete establishment of school administrative organizations, course settings, faculty recruitment and the administration of students.It also promoted its social influence by setting up teams to visit others and take part in competitions.
