Reflections on the "Alienation" Phenomenon of Wushu Sanda

Based on the alienation theory of Marxism, the "alienation" phenomenon of Wushu Sanda is analyzed, such as the alienation between the competitive process and athletes, the one between human relations, and between Sanda athletes and their initial motivation for Wushu practice. The major reasons for this phenomenon include the softening of moral restraint in traditional culture, the over-worship for the pursuit of "gold medal" policy as well as the unsound competition regulation system. Solutions are put forward as follows: adhere to the ethnic spirit of "being vigorous, self-improvement and social commitment", and the "root" and "soul" of Chinese Wushu culture; focus on the integration of sport and education to form a multiple dimension of "all-round human cultivation"; attach importance to the educating role of Wushu culture, which helps to shape the athletes' moral awareness and complete personality; promote "Wushu rule by law" construction to improve the high-quality development of Wushu Sanda. The references are provided for the inheritance and development of combative Wushu events.
