  • In the new era, integrative developmental trend has become a new feature of Chinese sports, with issues emerging in an interactive and holistic way as well. It is necessary to break the barriers of disciplines, integrate the scattered forms of sport sciences in order to respond to the sports problems in the new era. With the integration of knowledge in multiple fields considering disciplinary integration, it is essentially the collaboration of researchers in multiple fields, so it is necessary to change the paradigm with which the researchers are guided in their scientific activities, by transforming the catch-up-oriented paradigm of sport science without a discipline cohesion into the life-oriented paradigm of sport science with an internal cohesion. Thus an integrated sport academic community with an endogenous mechanism will be built with new shared values formed, scientific divisions connected, research perspectives assembled and communication platforms created. This is not only the new requirement of China's sport practices to the theory today, but also the need of the development of sport science itself.
