Value Implications, Realistic Challenges, and Practical Paths of Values Education for Young Athletes

As the future of sports, young athletes' values are closely related to the sustainable development of the sports industry, so it is crucial to help them to establish right values. Values education is of great significance in cultivating the legitimate value judgment of young athletes and their rationality towards values, and shaping their normative behavioral consciousness. In reality, however, due to the single method of values education, insufficient educational warmth and poor educational effectiveness, the young athletes' values education faces certain challenges resulting in the reality of simplified values cognition, weakened values identification, and weakened values self-correction. The practical paths accordingly are proposed: start with reason to strengthen the values cognition of young athletes; empathize with others to enhance their values recognition; practice often to promote their values self-correction.
