Abstract:
The study explored the theories and methods of equity evaluation and accessibility of public sports facilities. GIS spatial analysis method is used to analyze the accessibility and equity indices of the public sports facility spaces in Shanghai. The results show that the layout of public sports facilities in Shanghai is not quite reasonable. The accessibility of sports facilities at different levels varies a lot. The large quantity does not mean the better accessibility and equity. There is a difference in the interregional equity index. The public sports facilities in communities are fairly equal; but the urban public sports facilities are unevenly distributed and pretty poor in equity. Therefore the layout of public sports facilities should take into account of the radiating areas and population.
