Abstract:
Based on the database of Shanghai Student Physical Fitness Research Center, the study examined the exercise intention among teenagers in grades 4~12 in Shanghai, and the impact of school, family and community on them. The results show that 41.58% of the teenagers are willing to spend at least an hour daily on sport exercise and keep it as habit. The form of extracurricular physical exercise, interest in sports (in-class training) and duration of extracurricular physical training are the three biggest school factors influencing the exercise intention of students. The top three family factors are respectively the frequency of parents participating in sports activities, the enthusiasm of parents accompanying teenagers in sports competitions and performance, and the initiative of parents caring students' physical exercises at school. In terms of community factors, the most influential one is the sports facilities in community, followed by the efficiency of community sports organizations, the frequency of sports activities and skill training in the community.
