Abstract:
The study reviewed the competitive sport development in East Germany and explored its sport system.It holds that its success owes to the effective sport national system, including centralized investment, centralized talent identification and intensified training, etc.; while the banned drugs was only the by-product or catalyst from its rapid development.With its success and fails in competitive sport system in East Germany, China should optimize the national system's development mode to make it better, and take different strategies pertaining to basic sports or "marketable sports".
