Abstract:
Based on the literature review of 12 articles related to whole body vibration training (WBVT) and cerebral palsy (CP), the effects and mechanisms of WBVT on the motor system and bone mineral density in CP patients were analyzed. The findings show that WBVT can significantly reduce muscle spasm, and increase the muscle thickness and joint activity. It also has a positive effect on muscle strength, walking speed, gross motor function and bone mineral density. However, the effect on the balance ability is not consistent.Different experimental design and intervention methods lead to different rehabilitation effect. As an effective rehabilitation method with obvious advantage, WBVT should be further studied and applied to the rehabilitation of patients with CP.
