Abstract: Based on the literature review and the connotation of global urban sports industry development, the study uses the analytic hierarchy process to construct the evaluation index system of global city sports industry development, and makes an empirical analysis of the development level of sports industry in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Shanghai.The results show that the index system of global urban sports industry development consists of 3 dimensions, 3 levels and 16 specific indicators.Although Shanghai's sports industry has built up the resource base of sports industry and the international attraction of sports industry as a global city, it still lags far behind the other four global cities.It is necessary to keep up with the new trend of international sports industry development and enhance the resources security of sports industry as well as the international attractiveness and influence.
