Abstract: The theoretical logic and practical dilemma are explored in the functional transformation of public sports stadiums by field observation, questionnaire survey, principal component analysis and other methods.It is suggested that there be an interaction between consumer demand and stadium functions. Hence it puts forward the route of public venue function selection based on the consumption demand identification and makes an empirical analysis of Hubei Hongshan sports center.The current difficulties of the functional reconstruction of public sports stadium in land utilization, consumption scene construction, interest participation mechanism and reconstruction procedure are pointed out.The countermeasures of the function transformation of public sports venues mainly include as follows:land policy should be innovated to encourage the function transformation of stadiums; the construction of sports stadium consumption scenes and the mechanism of interest subject participation be improved; the multi-department cooperation working mechanism for the functional transformation of public sports stadiums be established and completed.
