Abstract: As an independent research object, sports diplomacy benefits from practice, but the practice of sports diplomacy lacks systematization and integration. In the past, researchers used "exemplification" to emphasize the function and political purpose of sports diplomacy but ignored the practical logic of sports diplomacy. The research starts from Max Weber's "instrumental rationality" perspective, reintegrates the practical logic of sports diplomacy, and introduces the concept of "capital" in sociology, hence the practical mode of "Resources-Action Strategies-Aims" has been proposed. It believes that it is necessary to distinguish sports diplomatic resources from sports diplomatic actions. The political purpose of sports diplomatic practice is "capital production and accumulation"; economic, cultural, social and symbolic capital once again participates in the practice of sports diplomacy through reproduction. Based on this model, this study further examines the problems existing in China's sports diplomacy practice.
