Abstract: The research status of modern sports history in China since 1949 from the perspectives of problem consciousness and paradigm application is explored.The research believes that from the 1950s to the present, the problem consciousness of modern sports history research has changed along with the social environment, featured with various issues and the sports culture as the focus.The paradigms application involved are revolution history paradigm, modernization paradigm, social history paradigm, etc.Though with remarkable achievements, the research has such problems as homogeneity and transplantation, and so on. Hereby the future development direction of modern sports history research is put forward: enhancing the problem consciousness, strengthening the construction of its own theoretical paradigm, deepening the existing research paradigm, and abiding by the academic norms.
