Abstract: In the "Double World-class Initiative", disciplinary construction constitutes the fundamental content. From the perspective of the history of academic discipline evolution, the problem of the research object leads to disciplinary classification. The deepening cognition towards the research object and the specific academic practice contribute to the establishment of the methodological system with problem-based disciplinary independence. Based on the investigation of the history and reality of the development of sports science, the independence of sports science is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the academic discipline orientation of sports science should be expanded from the biological level of studying "human body". Secondly, the research object's independence of the sports science discipline should be established. Thirdly, human movement behavior study is the theoretical basis of sports science methodology. Only from the behavioral narration of physical cognition to establish the body sense and form the proof of the chain structure of mutual proof with the corresponding disciplinary research, can we effectively solve the practical problem of judging the "authenticity" of sports behavior. Fourthly, sports science studies people's sports behavior, and provides the academic basis for verification or falsification in the narrative structure of multi-evidence chain with the two methodological techniques of "sports behavior annals" and "sports behavior image analysis", which opens up a "methodological path" for sports science to approach the truth of sports behavior. Finally, taking the result of academic practice "The humanistic field work of fire cracker ball" as an example, the academic innovation significance of the new methodology of sports science is demomstrated.
