Abstract:
Based on the panel data of a total of 41 cities in the three provinces and one city of the Yangtze River Delta from 2014 to 2020, a spatial econometric model was used to investigate the relationship between regional agglomeration characteristics, spatial spillover effects, and urban economic growth in the Yangtze River Delta. The research results show that: ① Sports industry agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta not only affects the economic growth of the region, but also has a positive space spillover effect on the economic growth of neighboring areas. ② The spatial spillover of sports industry agglomeration will be significantly enhanced as the degree of integrated development of regional sports industry increases. ③ The agglomeration of sports service industry in the Yangtze River Delta has a more significant spatial spillover effect, and economic activities between cities have played a role in promoting the spillover effect. Based on the above conclusions, several policy suggestions are proposed for the construction of sports industry agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta and the release of spillover effects.
