Abstract:
The China General Social Survey published in October 2020 is taken as the data source to construct a regression model, taking social class, generational differences, and spatial differences into account, to explore the impact of sports on Human Development Index (HDI) in China. The results show that sports can indeed improve the HDI in China. Still, there are significant class, generational, and spatial differences, and the weighting of the three dimensions above in China is different from international standards. For this reason, it is necessary to build a solid class foundation, break down the inter-generational barriers, and balance the spatial differences in the promotion of the HDI in China through sports.
