Foreign Experience and Enlightenment of Core Curriculum Setting for Sports MajorsTaking UK, USA and Australia as Examples

Abstract: The literature review is used to explore the core curriculum setting of sports majors in UK, USA and Australia. It is believed that the setting in these countries were generally featured with professional organization-based and multiple body participation. The core knowledge was formed on the basis of modules, hence to establish core courses. At the same time, universities were given full play in the curriculum setting, in which they adhered to the results-oriented education concept to construct the core curriculum standards and various evaluation forms. The conclusions are drawn that knowledge and capability structure model should be considered as the basis to build the core curriculum standards reversely. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary core curriculum is advocated based on the demand of sports practice. In addition, health-related courses can be moderately increased to respond to the needs of the country. Finally, an output-oriented evaluation system is optimized.
