Its continuous release of social and economic vitality has become a important force for the high-quality development of the regional economy. Based on the national and local economic and social development planning, the data of 40 urban agglomerations in China from 2000 to 2019, with the synthetic control method and fixed effect panel regression model, are used to analysis the impact of the "Dual Olympics" on the coordinated industrial upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region by its preparations for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics on the basis of successfully hosting the 2008 Summer Olympics. It is founded that the "Dual Olympics" effectively compensated the shortcomings of transportation and public services in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, which in turn increased the investment multiplier of infrastructures. To a greater extent, it drove the industrial upgrading of the three cities of Beijing, Tianjin, and Zhangjiakou as a whole, as well as the entire Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, forming a unique "Dual Olympics" effect with Chinese characteristics.
