Abstract: Based on the historical literature and the oral history, the article analyzes the oral history of wushu artists for the purpose of reviewing the existence of wushu from the five aspects, namely, economic system, social morality, life pattern, educational system and traditional culture attitude, and then examines the reasons for the existence of wushu in the early period of New China.The reasons boil down to the two:the epistemological shift and the changes of cultural ecology, which offers a reference for modern wushu development from the four perspectives of economy, morality, education and cultural ecology.
