Abstract:
The study is to explore the effect of perfectionism on athlete burnout in adolescent athletes, as well as the mediating effects of the basic psychological needs.956 adolescent athletes were recruited to complete MPS-S-C, Revised BPNS-A and ABQ.The results showed that ① With better reliability and validity, the revised BPNS-A can be used as an effective tool to measure the basic psychological needs of young athletes.② The 5 dimensions of perfectionism in adolescent athletes have significant positive prediction on athlete burnout, and the predictive effect of perceived coach pressure is more important.③ Perfectionism can not only directly influence athlete burnout, but also indirectly affect athlete burnout through the mediating effects of the basic psychological needs.
