Abstract: The study makes an analysis of the main achievements, future prospect and major measures in the development of sports industry in China. It states that great achievements have been made in the development of China's sports industry since the reform and opening-up in 1978, with the growing expansion of the scale, the constantly improved system and the growing body and quality. Besides, outstanding contributions and policies with constantly increased platforms and foundations can also be seen. Hence the development goal of the three stages of 2020, 2035 and the middle of the century is put forward on the basis of the development thought of the sports industry as the main line of "improving the quality and efficiency of development". That is, we should proceed to deepen the reform of "delegating powers to the lower levels, improving management and optimizing services", develop sports industry, build a modern sports industry system, promote industrial integration, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, establish industrial carriers, advance regional industrial synergy, expand sports consumption and implement the new opening strategy.
