Abstract:
Objective to analyze the different response to 8-week altitude training of elite rowers' aerobic performance and its relations with EPO and Hgb.
Methods The subjects were 39 rowers preparing for Olympic Games in 2016. They took part in altitude training for 8 weeks.
Results ①The overall result of 6 km ergometer increased by 0.10%, with the respondent increasing by 0.67% and non-respondent decreasing by 0.91%. ②At the 3rd day of the altitude training, there was an increase of 38.41% and 4.05% for EPO and Hgb, respectively, and a decrease of 17.25% and 0.58% at the 15th day, respectively, compared with the 3rd day.
Conclusions ①The Chinese elite rowers' aerobic capacity change shows individual differences after the altitude training. ②The respondents and non-respondents show different changes of EPO and Hgb during the altitude training. ③The rowers' EPO of 3rd and 15th day during the altitude training are different between the two groups, but no linear relation with the change of aerobic performance.
