Abstract: Square Dance disputes involve not only the real space, but also the governance of the sphere of public opinion.This study starts with the topic of mass media coverage and analyzes how square dance can improve its image and position to gain social and public identity through agenda, based on the Wuhan square dance reports from 2014 to 2016.This study holds that the media sought the rationality of the people's needs by way of the functional coverage; and it coordinated the interaction between the Dance and the public through conflicting coverage.Also, it constructed honor system and social recognition by the events coverage; and it regulated the space and institution discipline by management coverage.This governance practice of Square Dance governance offered the conclusions that the "soft & hard governance combination" may help the benign development of city space.
